Quotes-October 2013

I love fall.  This morning W and I went on a walk/run and enjoyed seeing a few leaves turning, pumpkins decorating people’s porches and a few scary spiders ready for Halloween this week.  Our month has been full of friends and being in one place.  I have also been soaking up all the reading time I can get.  Here a few of my favourite quotes from what I have been reading either in books or on the internet.
From Beth Moore-David 90 Day Study
Faith sometimes means forgetting our desires because we trust Christ to have a better plan for our lives.”

From Francis Chan-Crazy Love:
p.165 “Oswald Chambers writes, “Never make a principle out of your experience; let God be as original with other people as He is with you.” To that I would add, “Be careful not to turn others’ lives into the mold for your own. ” Allow God to be as creative with you as He is with each of us.”

p.112 “Having faith often means doing what others see as crazy.  Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers.”

From Ann Voscamp-Her September 30th post:
It’s either take every thought captive or be taken captive.  When you realise life is war, you make prayer a shield and Christ your general and the victory is found in grace.”

From John RW Stott:
Our love grows soft if it is not strengthened by truth, and our truth grows hard if it is not softened by love.”

What are some quotes that stood at to you this month?
