Quotes: September 2011

I decided to start off with a great quote for the beginning of the school year fro the Simple Mom blog:

“The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives.” Robert Maynard Hutchins.
I liked this quote from Almost Heaven by Chris Fabry.
“Music has a way of filling in the missing places.  It is a gift from God above, who didn’t have to provide it, but he did anyway and I half think he decided life just wouldn’t be good without it.  Even if you’re penniless and on the street and have nothing at all, or it you’re shut-in and on a sickbed, or if you’re in prison, if you have music, there is a something to feed your soul.”
A good reminder for anyone anywhere from More Than Me: The 4 Essentials of Relational Wholeness  by Jim Petersen, Glenn McMahan, and David A. Russ
“The life of Jesus teaches us that it is always right and good to live in accordance with the four essentials- independent of the results.  This does not mean we should risk our hearts in every relationship; we need discernment and wisdom.  But integrity, love, humility, and forgiveness are always the most beautiful and noble way to live.  These traits transcend all circumstances, all cultures, all generational fads.  Jesus calls us to imitate him no matter the outcome.”
Some great reminders from the Message.
“Forget about self-confidence; it’s useless.  Cultivate God-confidence.   From I Cor 11
“Friend, stay where you were called to be.  God is there.” From I Cor 7
Blessings, TJ
