Quotes-January 2011

Here are some quotes from my reading this month.
From an email sent to me by my father in law, author of the quote unknown.

Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly,
and pray continually.
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
We are praying for snow where I live so I am hoping to do some dancing in the snow
Psalm 112:7,8 “He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure, he will have no fear, in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.”
This is a verse I prayed for the country where I live this week.
Zechariah 2:11 “Many nations will be joined with the Lord on that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.”
From Radical:Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt
This, we remember, is the greatest reward of the gospel: God himself. When we risk our lives to run after Christ, we discover the safety that is found only in his love, and the satisfaction that is found only his presence. This is the eternally great reward, and we would be foolish to settle for anything less.”
From Trusting God: Even When Life Hurts by Gerald and Jeff Bridges
Our first priority in times of adversity is to honor and glorify God by trusting Him.”
From Organized Simplicity by Tsh Oxenreider
Simplifying your life is meant to make things better, not worse. It’s about choices-about saying no to the things in your life that aren’t the best so that you are free and available to say yes to those things you truly want.”
